What to eat on holidays not to get fat?

For many people, vacations are fast approaching, often accompanied by the stress of growing fat during this time of letting go in many areas. So we’ve decided to give you some tips to give you peace of mind when it comes to your waistline.

Never leave without them (your water bottles)

Wherever you go, make sure your water bottles are always full. Women need to drink an average of at least 2.2 litres of fluid per day; for men this average is 3 litres. When we drink water, we decrease the desire to ingest food without reason. Also, since in summer the danger of dehydration is greater because of humidity and heat, always having a bottle of water with you is a good habit to take.

Stock up on fruit

Summer is the ideal time to eat lots of fruit, as they are abundant and refreshing. Have plenty in the cooler and stop in the markets to stock up on apples, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, raspberries, etc. Fruits fill our need for sugar in addition to occupying a lot of space in the stomach, which contributes to satiety. In addition, they contain valuable antioxidants that strengthen our protection against disease.

Fill the cooler with raw vegetables

Before mealtime, when hunger arrives, there’s nothing better than eating raw vegetables (with a little dip if necessary) to calm hunger and wait until the next meal.

Look for miniportions

It would be unrealistic to suggest not eating chips or ice cream on vacation. But to enjoy them in moderation, buy the small chips and ice cream bars that are available in grocery stores. For example, the excellent Häagen-Dazs Almond Bar contains 310 calories in regular size compared to 190 calories in small size. There are also miniportions of chips with 100 calories per bag. I therefore propose these small formats rather than a categorical no to these sweets, because what causes frustration in the long run is not so much the size of the portions as the draconian ban.

Choose carbonated waters and fruit juices over soft drinks

Have you ever tried fruit juices and carbonated lemon or lime waters to replace chemical carbonated drinks with added sugars ? They are a good alternative when you want to quench your thirst and drink a sparkling drink. Carbonated fruit juices are generally purchased in natural grocery stores.

Moderate your alcohol consumption

Two bottles of beer provide about 300 calories, and ½ bottle of wine about 350 calories. Alcohol also tends to increase appetite. If you want beer and wine or other alcoholic beverages, stick to one drink a day for women and two for men. And if you want to drink more, choose alternatives such as beer and alcohol-free wine, apple must, etc.
