Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) provides visitors with interactive kiosks in 2 of its terminals, at Terminal 2 arrivals and Tom Bradley International Terminal.
These terminals designed like giant Smartphones are called AskLAX. They have 36-inch touch screens that provide access to various information about the airport, such as terminal maps, locations of different shops and signs, emergency procedures, various transport options, real-time air traffic details and toilet locations.
Users even have the opportunity to take themselves in selfie and have the photo sent directly to their mailbox or to chat in video chat with LAX staff who will answer in 27 different languages!
With the intensity of airport traffic in high season, these kiosks complement all LAX staff scattered throughout the airport’s 9 terminals in order to provide information to passengers.
« Our new AskLAX kiosks are an easy way for our customers to access real-time travel information, or contact an assistant to help them with the process, » said Justin Erbacci, director of innovation and technology for Los Angeles Airports (LAWA).
« These terminals are just one example of how LAX wants to innovate to improve the customer experience through technology and creativity.
These kiosks were installed by Vgreet, a technology provider specializing in janitorial services.
