Celebrity River Cruises has just announced a commitment to 10 new ships, bringing its European fleet to 20 vessels by 2031. This announcement marks the start of construction, with the first steel cutting for the Celebrity Compass, the company’s first river cruise ship. This expansion will make Celebrity River Cruises one of the largest European river cruise operators, offering more itineraries and destinations than ever before.
To celebrate these milestones, Celebrity River Cruises has opened bookings for the 2028 season, offering more than 160 cruises to over 50 destinations across Europe.
Passengers will be able to cruise the Rhine to the vineyards of Alsace, follow the Danube to the centuries-old market halls of Budapest, or wake up in Prague and end the day in a café in the heart of Vienna.
Celebrity River Cruises will launch in 2027 with the Celebrity Compass and the Celebrity Seeker, followed in 2028 by the Celebrity Wanderer, the Celebrity Roamer, and the Celebrity Boundless, which will complete the fleet.

In 2028, Celebrity River Cruises will expand its premium experience to more of Europe’s iconic rivers, from the legendary Rhine Valley castle region to the historic capitals of the Danube.
Itineraries will take passengers to 24 new ports, including brand-new cruises through the wild beauty of the Lower Danube, featuring a first for Celebrity: an overnight stay in Bucharest.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy the tulip season in full bloom and discover a new way to experience the magic of Christmas markets.
