At the opening press conference of ITB Berlin 2026, Márcio de Jesus Lopes Daniel, Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Angola, officially launched the 60th edition of the global trade fair, celebrating his country’s historic role as host nation.

Under the vibrant theme « The Rhythm of Life, » the minister outlined an ambitious strategy in which tourism becomes the primary driver of the country’s economic diversification, aiming to generate stable and sustainable added value and break free from its historical dependence on the oil sector.

Sustainability is established as the central pillar of this transformation, built around economic resilience, social inclusion, and strict environmental responsibility to preserve pristine landscapes and exceptional biodiversity.

Leveraging a dynamic demographic, the minister described Angola’s youth as a major asset, highlighting the sector’s massive job prospects in hospitality, culture, and creative industries, thanks to enhanced training programs and support for local entrepreneurship.
