Carnival removes Tracy Arm Fjord from its itineraries

In a strategic memo to its passengers, Carnival Cruise Line officially announced the removal of the famous Tracy Arm fjord from its Alaskan cruise itinerary for the 2026 summer season.
This decision, dictated by rigorous monitoring of local geological conditions, reveals that the waterway is no longer suitable for the safe navigation of large cruise ships.
To compensate for this change, Carnival will reroute its ships to Endicott Arm fjord, a spectacular alternative located nearby.
In practical terms, the ships will perform a simple technical maneuver by turning right instead of left at the entrance to the fjords, guaranteeing travelers an equally breathtaking visual experience.
This change of course impacts three flagships of the fleet: the Carnival Miracle and the Carnival Spirit, which will operate seven-night cruises departing from Seattle between late April and mid-September 2026, as well as the Carnival Luminosa.
The latter will make history for the company by offering, for the first time, 11-night itineraries departing from San Francisco, including stops in Prince Rupert, Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway.
Carnival Cruise Line reassured its customers that pre-booked shore excursions would be automatically transferred to the new itinerary without any further action required.
In addition to exploring Endicott Arm, passengers will still be able to admire the magnificent landscapes of Interior Alaska, with confirmed stops in Victoria, Ketchikan, and Juneau, confirming that the region’s wild allure remains intact despite these logistical adjustments necessary for everyone’s safety.
